slowly turning the hands of time
back to a forgotten yesterday
trying to remember when we met
it suddenly feels a lifetime away
for once upon a recent time
that stranger became my friend
and loyal to him I will remain
until the very end
what you see it what you get
sincerity you will find
he keeps it real in every way
no mask to hide behind
he’s an hardcore caring and fun human being
who’ll first attend to the needs of others
but humble enough to call his listeners
his very own sisters and brothers
I came empty handed but find myself
picking up feathers along this ride
that’s what happens when a winged giant
deserts his pedestal and kneels by your side
